Mackie Designs Awarded Best Overall Product Quality Award

April 24, 2001 – Woodinville, Wash. - 2001 National Association of Broadcasters Expo, Las Vegas, Nevada – Mackie Designs Inc. (NASDAQ: MKIE), the Woodinville, Washington manufacturer of award winning professional audio mixers, recording tools and sound reinforcement equipment was presented the prestigious Film & Video Magazine User's Choice Award in the area of Best Overall Product Quality.

Film & Video Magazine is the leading trade publication covering the art and science of the entertainment industry, including all forms of production and post production of feature films, television programming, TV commercials, music videos, and interactive entertainment.

Mackie's Executive Vice President of Marketing, Lori Stutsman, was presented the award by Film & Video Magazine's Publisher and Editor in Chief, Peter Caranicas, at the National Association of Broadcasters Expo, Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 24, 2001.

The winners of the Film & Video Magazine User's Choice Award are selected based upon an independent survey, conducted by telephone, of leading product users in the area of production and post production. The survey is conducted by Scenic Wonders Inc., the leading independent research company serving the entertainment and broadcast industries.

Mr. Caranicas notes the major significance of this award is that entertainment production and post production professionals are speaking out on what products they use and prefer. They are answering unprompted questions, simply stating what products from various product categories most stand out in their minds.
