While the unit - Mackie HDR24/96 - performs a myriad of workstation recording and editing functions, it's capability to store recorded programming on hard disk provides unique and user-friendly "all-in-one" capability, standing in contrast to all other digital and analog packages. An entry-level price point below $5,000.00 (U.S. list) also makes the HDR24/96 a much higher value than current alternatives.

The unit's specially developed, integrated hardware and software platform is tailored to the specific needs of high-quality digital audio recording and storage, eliminating reliance on other more generic and adapted platforms.
