Mackie Designs Inc. Announces Share Repurchase

October 1, 1998 – Woodinville, Wash. – Inc. (Nasdaq: MKIE) today announced that its board of directors has authorized an extension of its share repurchase program to up to 600,000 of its shares on the open market. Mackie announced in May 1997 that the company had been authorized by the board to repurchase up to 400,000 shares on the open market.

"Buying back company shares demonstrates our belief that Mackie stock is undervalued. We feel our stock is a good financial investment for the company," stated Greg Mackie, founder and chief executive officer. "Mackie's performance continues to be strong, and although this has not been reflected in our stock price in recent months, management believes it is just a matter of time before the market recognizes our company's successful positioning in the growing pro audio marketplace. We continue to maintain strong brand recognition and a name for quality in the industry," added Mackie.
