LOUD Technologies (formerly Mackie Designs, EAW, etc.) is searching for a Director of Engineering to work in our Shenzhen, China Design Center. This position is primarily responsible for managing the design efforts of a team of Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware and Component Engineers, as well as Program Managers. Our successful candidate will be skilled at working with marketing to define new Professional Audio products and will have the ability to make persuasive formal and informal presentations to senior management. This position will be the technical leader for the team with the ability to define system architectures and apply technology in new and novel ways that result in the delivery of compelling products. The Director of Engineering will work closely with Manufacturing and Customer Service to monitor quality levels of released products and to initiate corrective action when necessary.
This position is expected to be self directed and capable of working across organizational and functional boundaries with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Vice President of
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical leadership to a team of design engineers
- Maintain up-to-date understanding of the professional audio market and the applicable key technical trends
- Work with Program Managers to optimize the utilization of engineering resources
- Work with Marketing on new product definition
- Present technical information to applicable departments
- Increase the overall productivity of the team
- Provide motivation and build skills/technical knowledge of team members
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Occasional travel to the US will be required
QUALIFITCATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Masters preferred
- 10 + years of design engineering experience
- 5 + years of engineering management
- Must speak fluent Mandarin and English with outstanding communication skills
- Ability to solve difficult issues
- Strong understanding of Chinese and Western cultures
- Must be able to work in China
- Professional Audio experience a plus
- Ability to travel
- Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to be highly proficient while receiving limited supervision
